Flower Care
Trim the Stems
A clean cut every 2–3 days keeps water flowing freely to your blooms.
When flowers are first cut, the stem ends begin to seal within minutes — much like a wound healing. This natural process blocks the tiny vessels that carry water up to the blooms, causing them to wilt prematurely even when they're sitting in a full vase.
The fix is simple: re-cut the stems before placing them in water, and repeat every other day. Cut at a 45° angle rather than straight across — this creates a larger surface area for water absorption and prevents the stem end from sitting flat against the bottom of the vase.
Use sharp scissors or floral shears — not dull kitchen scissors that crush the stem tissue. A clean cut is everything.
